A Lifetime on the Water
Captain Tyler V. has been fishing the rivers of Northern California, including the Trinity and Klamath, for more than 15 years—building a deep connection to the waters he calls home. Growing up in the Pacific Northwest, Tyler developed his skills chasing steelhead, salmon, and trout, learning how seasonal shifts, river conditions, and local habitats shape the bite. His approach to guiding is rooted in respect for the resource and a genuine love of teaching others how to succeed on the river.
Guiding With Skill and Patience
Known for his friendly, easygoing style, Tyler works with anglers of all ages and experience levels—from first-timers learning their first cast to seasoned fishermen refining advanced techniques. He takes the time to explain why a certain drift, lure, or presentation works in specific conditions, helping guests not only catch fish but also understand the “why” behind each decision. This teaching-first mindset has earned him a reputation as a trusted, approachable guide who creates an environment where everyone feels confident and engaged.
Local Knowledge You Can Count On
Tyler’s expertise extends across the Trinity River, the Klamath River, and other productive Northern California waterways. He knows how to adapt to shifting water levels, weather patterns, and fish migrations, ensuring guests have the best possible chance at success. Whether it’s timing the peak of the steelhead run or knowing where salmon hold in low water, his insight comes from years of on-the-water experience, not just charts or reports. That local knowledge means guests are always in the right place, at the right time, with the right strategy.
About the Boat
TNT Sport Fishing operates from a 17-foot Willie drift boat, perfectly designed for navigating both swift currents and calmer stretches of these rivers. Outfitted with comfortable seating, a heater for cold mornings, and even a pita oven for fresh riverbank meals, the boat accommodates up to three anglers without feeling crowded.
